Personally I select yellow for open areas like the lounge and patio where light-weight is at most present as for blue I delegate them in the bedroom where rest is terribly important. In fact there are also different shades of blue but more often than not I select sky blue for rooms whereas in the kitchen it is most inspiring to place red (in a very manner I invariably associate red with tomatoes) so I choose a reddish tomato quite hue in my kitchen.
